Bantay Karapatan sa Halalan is the convergence of two dynamic groups in Philippine society: electoral reform groups and human rights groups.

Bantay Karapatan sa Halalan (BKH):

Bantay Karapatan sa Halalan is the convergence of two dynamic groups in Philippine society: electoral reform groups and human rights groups.  The convergent point of these two groups is the 2016 National and Local Elections (“NLE”).

Bantay Karapatan sa Halalan’s ultimate aim is to monitor the 2016 NLE with a human rights lens.  Hence, the necessity of electoral reform groups and human rights groups to come together so that each other’s approach and methodology would be fused into one framework.  Electoral reform groups would provide the experience and technical knowledge of the Philippine elections. In contrast, human rights groups would give experience and technical expertise as to human rights monitoring, observance, and compliance.

Objectives:

  1. Embed a human rights framework in the 2016 NLE and beyond
  2. Provide a platform for uniform reporting of human rights violations in the Philippines
  3. Provide evidence-based data to appropriate agencies for access to justice of victims and accountability for perpetrators

Task Force Eleksyon (TFE):

Task force Eleksyon is the biggest nationwide coalition of electoral reform advocates, which was formed in 2016 and has launched its national campaign for VERITAS.

VERITAS stands for Vision, Engagement with Communities, Respect for the Environment, Integrity, Track Record, Accountability, and Servant.
